Deep-Secure

Kieron completed this £4m Management Buy-In (MBI) December 2009, funded by YFM.

Pre-acquisition History

Clearswift Specialist Products (CSP) was created in 2002 in order to identify and focus on the special business needs of the government and defence security markets. The very high security ‘High Assurance Application Guard’ (HAAG) technology that was designed and implemented for Australian Defence between 2001 and 2005 met Common Criteria EAL4 (Evaluation Assurance Level 4) requirements for network separation and content inspection. The Bastion DeepSecure (TM) solution set has since gone through several development evolutions and Common Criteria evaluations at EAL4 and is considered the highest available form of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) network security for the transmission of information between networks and domains operating at differing security classifications or trust levels (for example within an international task force). Application and content support available now and in development within DeepSecure Bastion (TM) include SMTP & X.400 Email, Web Traffic, Publication and Applications, XML content, Instant Messaging etc.

Reasons for Aquisition

The need for sharing sensitive information to aid the fight against crime and terrorism for example, between government organisations together with their international partners in today’s world is becoming increasingly important. The demand for higher and higher security amongst commercial organisations that may already have been criminally penetrated has also become a high board level priority for high assurance network border systems to protect information assets.

Together with Yorkshire Fund Managers (YFM), CSP was acquired from Clearswift in December 2009.
